Honey Labrador
Labrador, a 1990s model and actress, completed a stint on Queer Eye for the Straight Girl in 2005 as a lifestyle coach. In 2006 she brought her fashion skills from Honey L Designs to The L Word, creating a line of jeans based on the characters of the show. “It's something I've always wanted to do, especially on a show that has been so groundbreaking for all of us.” Labrador crafted the jeans for every kind of woman, basing each on individual L-ladies: the Bette, the Tina, the Dana and, of course, the Shane. “The show itself has kind of squashed the idea that lesbians have no style,” she says. A well-received fashion show at this year’s Dinah Shore launched the line in style; 10% of each sale goes to breast cancer research. –LF
