100 Women We Love 2007

We present to you this year’s selection of 100 out women who have made an impact on the community. Meet the class of 2007.

Chagmion Antoine
At 25, Antoine of CBS News on Logo is one of the youngest news anchors in the country. Her role model is Levar Burton from Reading Rainbow. ” As a kid growing up in the Bronx, in an apartment, surrounded by concrete, he took me into space, into the Southwest, and taught me how to make papier mache,” she says. “That’s what TV and news are supposed to do—open up possibilities, show you what’s happening outside of you.” As a college junior art major, Antoine produced an arts program for Alfred University’s TV station and discovered an interest in news. She debuted as an anchor on a student-produced 2004 NLGJA conference show. Surprised, but prepared, when Logo executive producer Bob Corbin-Fassant gave her his card, Antoine jumped at the opportunity. “I was like a terrier on his leg.” By August 2005, she had the job. –MW
