100 Women We Love 2007

We present to you this year’s selection of 100 out women who have made an impact on the community. Meet the class of 2007.

Annie Leibovitz
Possibly the most celebrated photographer of the 20th Century, Leibovitz remains an enigma, with more than 30 years of professional commercial work and hundreds of portraits to her name. The fiercely private 57-year-old Connecticut native’s traveling photo exhibit debuted at The Brooklyn Museum this winter, and is now traveling Europe and the West Coast. Leibovitz is famous for celebrity portraits including several nudes of Demi Moore, Yoko Ono and John Lennon, and finally included shots of her family, three daughters, and late partner, writer Susan Sontag, in the exhibit and accompanying book. With the controversial photos she published chronicling Sontag’s fatal battle with cancer, Leibovitz revealed a life in pictures more renowned than any other. As she told Newsweek, “This book is me.” –MW
