Parisa
Rigged Out/fitters designer and founder Parisa aims to “create space within the world of fashion that defies society’s concept of gender and sexuality.” Her style is graphic, driven and gritty. No wonder The L Word stylists picked up her threads to adorn the likes of Katherine Moennig. Her self-proclaimed “queer and dirty,” vintage-turned-modern, restructured styles challenge stereotypes, and the way “queer women [have been] considered the butt end of a joke [by the industry] rather than an aesthetic or a style.” Parisa anticipates the day her business will lead her to produce, cut and sew styles, making apparel from scratch in addition to designing and reinventing. –JB
