The 100 Women We Love – out artists, elected officials, business leaders, athletes, community activists – are role models for us all. Many are up-and-coming movers and shakers; some are at the zenith of their careers. Some of their achievements change our world and, just as importantly, others improve the world’s perception of out women. They all strive tirelessly to increase our visibility and continue our incredible progress toward equality and justice.

We proudly present the class of 2011, in random order, so each gets her well-deserved turn in the spotlight.

CLAIRE MOSELEY

Saint Louis, MO native Claire Moseley came out when she was 19 and has since made her life a testament to openness, pride and community involvement. Her journey recently brought her to Los Angeles, where she’ll join her ex-girlfriend Francine Beppu in the cast of the second season of Showtime’s hit series The Real L Word. Sparks will surely fly as Moseley copes with missing her long-distance girlfriend while reconsidering her intense feelings for Francine. Professionally, Moseley is launching an online magazine focusing on lesbian lifestyle and fashion, of which she says, “there is nothing like having the freedom to produce and implement something completely original, and that was my goal with AnInitial.com. Meeting new people and hearing their unique stories inspires me. I love creating imagery driven by my personal aesthetic, and I hope others will appreciate my work.” –CM
