Judy Bowman

“I want to be able to work on projects by, for, and about gay women and the gay community at large,” says casting agent Judy Bowman. “I’m so excited to integrate that part of my life into my work.” Bowman began her career in casting in 1993 and, in 2004, she formed Judy Bowman Casting to seek out work showcasing the LGBT community. She has been a part of several regional productions and has worked with prestigious theaters like Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre and LAByrinth Theatre Company, as well as on films, television shows and audiobooks. In addition to casting, Bowman teaches on-camera auditioning at One on One NYC and is on staff at the Harlem School of the Arts. As such, she says, “I want to be someone whom young, gay actresses can ask for help or advice, and someone who is open to discussion about the future of gay women in entertainment.” –CB
