Deepa Soul/Diedra Meredith
A dramatic singer, songwriter and stage performer, Deepa Soul—born Diedra Meredith in New Orleans—is also the executive director of OUTMusic, the LGBT Recording Academy. Since moving to New York in 1999 she’s collaborated with well-known music producers and DJs, toured throughout the world and landed several Billboard dance chart-topping singles. She’s set to drop Ego Trippin,’ a highly-anticipated triple-disc debut album. As an activist, Deepa started The Solution Evolution to End Poverty in America initiative, and created the “Freedom of Expression” advocacy campaign to empower and promote openly LGBT recording artists. “I strive to be a person of impact through being a living example.
