Karima and Mary met nearly six years ago while working for Google, and “it was pretty clear we were meant to be,” they say. “We did our best to keep it quiet at work, but of course, everyone knew!” They were married in September 2012 on Mary´s family´s New Hampshire property, Lakefalls Lodge. “The entire day was hugely memorable,” Karima says. “But her dad surprised us with an epic fireworks show to end the night, which was definitely the cherry on top.” Since they met, it´s been a crazy ride-thanks to work and life, the two have moved across the country three times in five years, from San Francisco to NYC to Boulder, CO, and then back to San Francisco. “Each time, we´ve had to settle into new homes and new rhythms as a couple with our two dogs,” Karima says. “Ultimately, though, these experiences have made us stronger and more clear-headed about what it takes to keep us happy and fulfilled together.” Five years down the road, they hope to have some additions to the family and continue working towards balance and presence, supporting each other as they establish their home and careers. We´re betting they´ll do just that. “I love Mary´s smarts; it´s nice to be constantly intellectually stimulated by her,” Karima says. Mary admires Karima´s determination: “Whenever she sets her mind on something, she goes for it!”
