The Very Best of NY Comedy

Uganda Be Kidding Me, Stand Up and Take Your Clothes Off, Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret and much more

Superstar comedian, author and talk show host, Chelsea Handler, brings her national stand-up comedy tour to NYC for two shows on Mar 8. She'll be touring in support of the Mar 4 release of her fifth book, Uganda Be Kidding Me. As the opinionated host of E!’s late night talk show, Chelsea Lately, Handler is well-known for her bold honesty and tongue-in-cheek commentary. “I've decided to go on tour and support my new book, Uganda Be Kidding Me. I think we all know how much I love the sound of my own voice,” said Handler. In this uproariously funny collection of travel essays, Chelsea delivers some of her favorite stories while giving travelers her (not to be believed) guide to etiquette, hot spots and answers to some of the most-asked travel questions.

If you love comedy, burlesque and variety shows, you're in for a bawdy, hilarious treat. In a limited engagement this spring and summer, Stand Up and Take Your Clothes Off! presented by Horse Trade Theater Group, features NYC's funniest female comics and sassiest burlesque acts. Performers such as stand-up comedian Kerryn Feehan and burlesque performer, Kitten Kent, Girl Detective put on a fantastic, memorable show at the Kraine Theater. Past entertainers have been featured in films, appeared on TV, and have performed at venues all over the globe. Be ready for "a fast-paced sexy show, exploding with talent!"

After a sold-out NYC debut at Joe's Pub in January—a show that The Village Voice deemed one of its 10 best—the Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret returns with a new show. This "balls-to-the-wall drag cabaret" is hosted by none other than Martha Graham Cracker, who is undoubtedly the world's tallest and hairiest drag queen. Backed by a four-piece live band, Martha Graham Cracker will perform new arrangements and mashups of songs by artists ranging from Prince and Crowded House to Motley Crue and Nina Simone, and a bit of everything in between. Martha Graham Cracker is played by Dito van Reigersberg, the co-founding co-artistic director of Philadelphia's Obie-winning Pig Iron Theatre Company. He conceived the Martha character in his East Village kitchen while a student at the Martha Graham School of Dance. "Witty, silly, bitchy and soulful…when she sings, you are completely rocked," says van Reigersberg.

Ladies and gentlemen, bois and girls, children of all ages, don't miss Circesque at the Highline Ballroom on Mar 18! Experience a spectacle like no other—where Burlesque meets the Big Top. Step right up; step right up, as the ring master takes you on a fulfilled fantasy ride through The Dollhouse's wicked circus. You won't want to miss a second of this.
