“Our secret to a successful relationship is that we believe in marriage, not just fighting for the right to marry but also fighting for the success of our own marriage,” says Jean. The couple met in a bisexual support group in 1996. “We were friends for a long time before we started dating, and dated for a long time before moving in together. We wanted to be sure we were ready for a forever commitment.” The couple has an 8-year-old daughter and 2 foster children and they hope to adopt a second child someday.
