GO Magazine’s New Year’s EVE SPECTACULAR, Dec 31 – The PARTY OF THE SEASON!
Hold on to your party hats—GO is throwing a New Year’s Eve bash to remember! It’s almost 2013 and the world didn’t end, so celebrate another year of life on earth at the elegant TriBeCa hotspot AOA Bar and Lounge. Watch the live feed from Times Square on 20 ginormous flat screen TVs and count down to the ball drop with family! Fancy swag bags greet the first 200 people in the door, while hundreds of NYC’s most festive females will nibble on complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres from 10-11pm. Rock ‘til you drop to party anthems from DJ Stacy, DJ Whitney Day and DJ Lezz Van Halen! And don your highest stilettos, ‘cause the A/C/E train is right outside the door. All proceeds from this epic night support your favorite free lesbian magazine.

Sweet Fox, Thursdays
Photographic evidence suggests that the inaugural Sweet Fox earlier this month, at Lit Lounge’s sexy cellar, was a raging success—and we think Boy Wonder Events is on to something here. Blending girl and guy go-go dancers, the cream of queer DJs in weekly tag teams, and a young, vibrant crowd, Sweet Fox is the unpretentious answer to the question, “where should we kick off our weekend?” Upcoming DJ duos include Amber Valentine (of Williamburg’s Misster!) and DJ Leah V from Boston’s Paper Panda Productions on Dec 20. On Dec 27, work off your Christmas turkey and Hanukkah gelt to DJ Whitney Day and Juicy L.A.’s DJ Lush.

Lesbo a Go Go, Fridays
If it ain’t broke, why change it? Still going strong after six years—that’s a few decades in nightlife years—Lesbo-a-Go-Go at Stonewall pulls in a diverse crowd of girls to the intimate upstairs lounge every Friday night except the first of the month. What lures them in? Go-go-hotties in every manner of undress, a rotating list of DJs specializing in crowd-pleasing house, dance and pop anthems, and energetic bartenders who keep the liquor flowing. We love to stop by to soak up the sense of history (and booze) at the bar where the LGBT rights movement began.

Bum Bum Bar, various nights
If the holidays leave you feeling wan and deflated, perk up at Queens’ spiciest (and only) Latin dance club for lesbians. It’s low-key from the outside, but inside you’ll find the dance floor packed with singles and couples grooving to salsa and merengue, and a bevy of butch and femme bartenders serving cheap and strong drinks. Saturday’s weekly party Rumba attracts tons of locals who come to shake off the work week and celebrate with pals. You’ll be welcomed like family by the friendly regulars and a roster of events that start your night off right.

So Much Fun, Thursdays
Is there a more appropriately named party? Sir Sabrina’s Thursday free-for-all melds karaoke, a good-looking set of patrons and an emphasis on freeing your spirit. Sign up to do an impassioned performance of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and be cheered on by supportive regulars, or be a spectator to some of the most ardent singing you’ll hear at Stonewall’s downstairs bar. Drink specials lubricate your courage if you’re on the fence. On Dec 20, get into the spirit of the season at So Much Cheer, where you can belt out your favorite holiday jingle or ballad (we love the Carpenters’ “Merry Christmas, Darling”). It’s impossible not to have a good time at this happy-go-lucky shebang—plus, free candy canes!

Glossy, Wednesdays
DJ Whitney Day has returned to her regular spot at Studio XXI after her incredible Thanksgiving Eve blowout at The Park with a few new tricks up her sleeve. In addition to the custom open vodka bar from 7-8pm, she’s introduced some new drink specials to get you over the weekly hump. Lightweights can drink up $6 domestic and imported beers, girly-girls can sip $7 glasses of champagne (before New Year’s toasts!) and the badass barflys can order up $8 Café Patron XO martinis. Add in Whitney Day’s signature dance mix and a gorgeous, extra-smokin’ hot crowd of women and their gay BFFs, and Glossy—the premiere after-work lezzie party—is ready to shine.

girlNATIONnyc, Saturdays
Hana’s legendary Saturday soiree is amping up the wow factor as we get closer to the new year. In its almost eight year track record, girlNATIONnyc has brought the best queer DJs in New York and beyond to work the decks, live performances from up-and-coming singers, CD giveaways and a broad array of holiday-themed hooliganism. Hana and her band of merry resident bartenders and guest DJs are planning big things for 2013. While we’re not at liberty to divulge any details, rest assured that the combination of elegant setting (The Stellan’s upstairs lounge) and face-meltingly strong drinks will continue. Can’t make it on a Saturday? Hit Stonewall’s upstairs bar on the first Friday of the month and see why girlNATIONnyc has been called the Party with the Sexiest Vibe.
