Conservative Christians have spent years protesting gay rights with signs claiming God intensely dislikes the gays. Now, a nationwide movement is responding. God Hates Shrimp is here to remind those who take the Bible literally that, a few paragraphs away from the Holy Book’s alleged condemnation of homosexuality, is another divine aversion: shellfish. From Leviticus 11:9–12: “And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you.” That’s right: anti-gay crazies break God’s law when they go out to Red Lobster and order the scampi. That puts everything is perspective, doesn’t it?
