The Very Best of NYC Comedy

8th Annual New York Comedy Festival, Raise the Roof: The Moth at Town Hall

Ladies rule at the 8th Annual New York Comedy Festival running from Nov 9-13. This week-long laugh fest brings the biggest names in comedy to New York to perform in the city’s most prestigious venues. Wanda Sykes tears down Town Hall with her smart, witty stand up Nov 10; Kathy Griffin brings her rapid fire snark to Carnegie Hall Nov 12; and Sarah Silverman plays host to some of today’s funniest comedians at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House also playing Nov 12.

Join The Moth for an all-star evening at Raise the Roof: The Moth at Town Hall on Nov 2. The evening will be hosted by Garrison Keillor and feature brand-new stories from beloved Moth storytellers, including author Tina McElroy Ansa; writer and Moth Story SLAM champion Elna Baker; and renowned tiger and jaguar expert Alan Rabinowitz. The 2011 Moth Award, celebrating the art of the raconteur, will be presented to the family of Spalding Gray in recognition of his life and work. The presentation of the award will include a special story tribute to Gray by writer and Bored to Death creator Jonathon Ames.
