If you ever dreamed of jumping off the roof when you were a kid, then check out Jessica Harbeck. As a Hollywood stuntwoman, Harbeck gets paid to be tackled (CSI: NY), dropped on her head (House), and pelted with tennis balls (Bridesmaids). Heroic Harbeck began performing stunts in 2005 and, three years ago, became a member of the Stuntwomen's Association of Motion Pictures, an elite, invitation-only organization for Hollywood's top stuntwomen. With TV credits like True Blood, Revenge and American Horror Story; and jobs on big studio films such as Battle Los Angeles, Get Him to the Greek, and the much-anticipated Star Trek Into Darkness (directed by J.J. Abrams), Harbeck is poised to take her career to the next level: the almost-all-male world of stunt coordination. To do so, she recently started her new company, En Pointe Action Designs. "It would be an honor to join the ranks of the few female coordinators who've paved the way," she said. Like the stuntwomen before her, Harbeck's breaking through the glass ceiling. Sometimes, literally. -DN
