A renowned powerhouse within the creative industry, Laurie Wolfe has worked with everyone from Mariah Carey and Martha Stewart to the Victoria’s Secret Angels. After getting her start in editorial design at Vanity Fair, Wolfe focused on advertising. A bona-fide branding expert, she’s played major creative roles at J.Crew, Macy’s, Donna Karan, Victoria’s Secret, and the Home Shopping Network, to name a few. She’s confident that being gay has only helped her career. “In fashion and advertising, there are so many of us in all strata of those worlds that being out is really a non-issue,” she says. “I’ve always seen it as a gift, in that I have the ability to see and know what women want through the lens of being a woman, as well as understanding the power of a woman’s sexuality as a gay woman, and how to leverage that in business.” Now, inspired by friends seeking a chic gay-friendly travel and wedding experience, Wolfe recently launched her own luxury lifestyle company, Chic+Curated, with co-founder Thomas Stanley. A “love letter to the gay community,” C+C offers comprehensive travel services, retail and private-label products, and a new wedding registry/destination wedding side (ChicGayHoneymoons.com). –QW
