Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Cabaret Life Drawing Class
Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Cabaret Life Drawing Class combines cabaret performers with life drawing instruction. The classes originated in Brooklyn, NY and have made their way to Boston, where alternative culture is prevalent. The models start with shorter poses, in order to give the artists an opportunity to warm up their drawing skills. Then they begin to hold longer poses, take off articles of clothes and speak to you while you're sketching their unique styles.
This class welcomes all levels of artists and Dr. Sketchy will guide each artist at their own pace. The class is hosted at Great Scott (1222 Commonwealth Avenue in Allston, MA at the corner of Harvard and Commonwealth). It's $7.00 to get in and starts promptly at 2:30pm. Be sure to bring some dollars, as those in the class are encourage to tip the burlesque models. Also, prizes are awarded by Dr. Sketchy to the top artists (all prizes are provided by Artist and Craftsman Supply).
