The Godfather was concocted when a few friends arrived at our Thursday night hangout and found me lounging on a couch, arms spread wide, with two girls sitting on either side of me. Witnessing this, they then asked me humorously “Can I kiss your ring Godfather?” I chuckled thinking they don’t know me at all. I don’t wear accessories, what ring?
From that point forward the nickname stuck like glue and I have gone on to use it to my advantage. Under the penname The Godfather I created a local Los Angeles based lesbian blog, which provides daily updates on citywide lesbian events and nightlife. It also offers an entertaining personal look inside the scene, and when I say personal, I mean from my own perspective.
As a newbie many moons ago, it was incredibly hard find access in. I felt some sort of publication or media outlet was necessary to help those who recently emerged from their closeted cocoons to discover what options lie out there in order to meet other lesbians. Thus I constructed the blog site, Boxed Lunch: LA Lesbians, and it was then up to me to try and guide and educate those fresh-faced, and even some established lesbians, of our ample Los Angeles haven. |
