Author/actress Prudence Wright Holmes performs her one-woman show about lesbian author Willa Cather. Daring to dress as a man in a small Nebraska town in the 1890s, Willa impressed her neighbors with her brilliant mind and can-do attitude. She went on to have a successful career in journalism and write best-selling novels like My Antonia and Death Comes for the Archbishop. Unlucky in love, Willas heart was broken when her soul mate and benefactor, Isabelle McClung married a man. But Willa soldiered on. She was chosen Women of the Year by Time Magazine and was the second women to win a Pulitzer Prize for Literature, in 1923. She always affirmed that, Being a woman never damaged my ambition to be Pope or Emperor.
