This Week's Anti Marriage Amendment In PA Suddenly Dropped by gomag.com May 7, 2008 |
|
Just hours before the Pennsylvania state Senate was supposed to meet to supposedly approve the controversial anti-gay marriage and civil union amendment, the bill's sponsor Senator Michael Brubaker (R) pulled the bill. The Senator decided to have the bill (which passed through a key committee earlier this week) tabled indefinitely right before it went to a vote on the Senate floor. Of his decision Brubaker said, " "It has become apparent that, as the issue stands today, Senate Bill 1250 will not move in the House."
Brubaker decided that he needed to muster more support for the bill before sending it to a vote. Tabling it for now will not kill the proposed amendment but it will probably not be seen again until next year.
See yesterday's new story here for more on the PA bill.
