The New School’s College of Performing Arts is pleased to announce that the acclaimed Mannes Opera Young Artists, conducted by Artistic Director Joseph Colaneri, will give two fully-staged performances of Mark Adamo’s Little Women with the Mannes Orchestra. Performances will take place May 6 & 7 at 7:30pm at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, 524 West 59th Street, New York. Admission is $25 for the public and $10 for students and seniors. As a way to thank NY fans and reach out to new ones in the US market, Machester United will host a giant FREE viewing party – live – for their match against Norwich City with the team’s legendary players Dwight Yorke and Andrew Cole at Gotham Hall, 1356 Broadway, New York City. Although they’ll have to rise early – kick-off is 7:45 am – die-hard fans will have the opportunity to hear these legends share personal anecdotes from their time at the Club, predictions and analysis. There will also be entertainment, giveaways and competitions.Tickets will be given away by random drawing, however, so fans are asked to register online for a chance to win admission (www.manutd.com/iloveunited). Recognized as one of the major dance companies of Latin America, São Paulo Dance Company makes its Joyce debut with works showcasing the incredible dynamics, versatility, and passion of Brazilian dancers. The program includes Céu Cinzento, Clébio Oliveira’s 2015 work examining impossible love; Gen, Cassi Abranches’s 2014 work highlighting the transition from dancer to choreographer; Mamihlapinatapai, Jomar Mesquita’s 2012 work exploring a look shared by two people; and Gnawa, Nacho Duato’s 2005 work using the four basic elements to address the relationship between humans and the universe.
