As the first decade of the new millennium comes to an end, we take a moment to celebrate 100 out lesbians who have made the past year one of inspiring change and amazing progress.

Susan Herr

The self-described “transgressor-in-chief,” Susan Herr launched DapperQ.com this past January as a place for transgressors of men’s fashion to find instructional videos about, for example, how to buy and tailor a man’s shirt for the female form. Previously, Herr founded PhilanthroMedia, a Brooklyn-based company that provides various new media services for nonprofit organizations. Herr sees a special kind of charisma in women who dare to wear masculine threads; for them, DapperQ offers clever video interviews like “Homo Bride to Be”. She explains, “Those of us who transgress men’s fashion well are magnetic in the ways that only mavericks can be. DapperQ is committed to affirming the power of that magnetism both within and beyond the queer community.” -CB
